List of Works

Normally the works written by a certain composer are followed by the word Opus and a number signalling the work’s creation either by date, collection, etc. When Ghillies met the Baha’i Faith, he destroyed his previous compositions because he felt that they were written in what he describes as a ‘past-life’ or the period in his life before his personal spiritual awakening. Ghillies therefore chose to replace Opus with the initials ‘B.E.’ (‘B’ standing for Baha’i and ‘E’ standing for Era) as, in the Baha’i Faith, their calendar differs from the typical Gregorian calendar, with B.E. 0 replacing 1844 A.D., the year in which Baha’is believe a new religious dispensation was begun.
